Herdsmen stab farmer in Rivers Community

Sources in Mgbodo village in Aluu community, Ikwerre Local government area of Rivers State say an argument between some herdsmen and a local farmer has led to the stabbing of the later by the former.

The farmer, Mr Godwin Nworlu was working on his cucumber farm when the herdsmen led their cows to destroy his crops.

The invasion, theportcitynews gathered, led to a heated argument between the farmer and the cattle rearers who asked them to leave his farm with their cattle.

According to an eyewitness, the argument soon degenerated into a physical confrontation leading to the stabbing of the farmer by the herdsmen.

He added that the farmer was rushed to the accident and emergency ward of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
