Just In: Woman stabs husband to death over birthday

A 23-year-old woman identified as Stella Peter has reportedly stabbed her husband to death over their daughter’s birthday in the Surulere area of Lagos.

The incident, PM news reports, occurred on Tuesday at about 6.00am.

The deceased a 25-year-old man identified as Bala Haruna died before being taken to the hospital.

Bala Elkana, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Lagos State Police Command explained that at about 6.00am, the homicide detectives of Surulere Police Division arrested Mrs Stella Peter for allegedly stabbing her husband, Bala Haruna to death.

Elkana said the duo were not legally married but lived together at No 2 Tejuosho Avenue, Surulere, Lagos, for three years and had a baby who just turned one.

“An argument ensued between them which turned violent and the woman used a kitchen knife to stab the man in the back which led to his death.

“She accused the deceased of refusing to release funds for their daughter’s birthday party. Homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba have taken over the investigation. She confessed to the would be charged to court for murder.”
