Police recover arms inside makeshift shop in Rivers community

The police command in Rivers State has recovered arms and ammunition during a raid at a shop in Rumuolumeni in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area following a tip-off.

The officers from Rumuolumeni Police Station stormed the makeshift shop where the recovery was made.

Eyewitnesses told theportcitynews that there were gunshots fired by the police officers during the raid, adding that the development made residents of the area to panic.

Confirming the incident, a police officer who did not want to be named said ammunitions including a locally made pistol, AK-47 and magazines were recovered, adding that the owner of the shop has been detained.
