Gunmen Kidnap travellers along East-West road.

Gunmen on Thursday afternoon abducted at least nine travellers along the East-West road, the Rivers State Police Command has said.

Among the victims of the attack were four serving corps members, theportcitynews gathered.

The incident happened along the Elele axis of the East-West road.

The bus belonging to the National Union of Road Transport Workers was heading to Port Harcourt from Bayelsa when it was attacked.

The state police spokesman, Nnamdi Omoni, said four of the abductees managed to escape, adding that the command rescued the rest.

He, however, said no corp member was in the bus when it was attacked.
