Residents call on government over imminent collapse of Aleto bridge

Residents of Aleto in Eleme Local Government Area have called on the Rivers State Government to construct a new bridge linking Aleto Eleme to the East-West road as the old is at the verge of collapse.

The resident who spoke to theportcitynews said the traffic jam on the bridge will force the bridge to cave in no distant time.

They said that the traffic on the dilapidated bridge which was designed for dynamic loads and not statics will force the bridge to collapse and cut off the community from the rest of the state.

They urged relevant authorities to expedite action construct a new bridge that will replace the old one.
