A man said to be generator repairer was on Thursday night, shot dead and beheaded in Choba, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

His genitals were severed from his body and thrown away while his girlfriend whom he was with was also attacked by the unknown gunmen but she luckily survived.

Locals said that the incident led to apprehension in the already tensed Choba Town which has witnessed protracted cult-related killings in the past months, forcing businesses to remain shut on Friday.

They added that the police who arrived at the scene, took away the mutilated body while the girlfriend of the deceased was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Mr Nnamdi Omoni, the Rivers State Police Command’s public relations officer, who confirmed the incident, said that apart from the generator repairer, a man standing close to his Toyota Sienna car was also killed.
