NWF urges Governor Wike to continue to invest in sports

President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation DANIEL IGALI has called on the Patron of the body, Governor NYESOM WIKE to continue to invest in sports development in his second term in office.

Daniel Igali in his congratulatory message to Governor Nyesom Wike on his victory at the just concluded March 9th Governorship election described his re-election as a double victory for Nigerian Sports.

Daniel Igali in a statement described WIKE’s re-election as a double victory for Nigerian sports, as His Excellency is a sports-loving Governor.

“We want to call on the Rivers State Governor to continue to invest in sports development in his second term, which already earned him the title of Power of sports (POS) bestowed on him by the International Association of Sports Journalists,” he said.

The former Olympic gold medallist also attributed the recent good showing of the wrestlers at international competitions to the huge support of Governor Nyesom Wike to the development of wrestling in Nigeria.

The Bayelsa State Lawmaker said Governor WIKE’s victory was never in doubt given his proven track record and the confidence the people of Rivers have in him.

He further disclosed that the board of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation will soon pay Governor WIKE, who is a patron of the body, a courtesy call to properly celebrate with him following his re-election.
