UN votes for a month-long ceasefire in Syria.

The UN Security Council on Saturday unanimously approved a resolution calling for a 30-day ceasefire to the deadly conflicts in Syria.

The vote intends to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid and medical evacuations in troubled regions.

The demand for ceasefire was made effective immediately, but the US envoy to the UN was sceptical that the Syrian regime would comply.

The vote comes a week after the deadly bombardments of Eastern Ghouta enclave by the Syrian regime. It has reportedly left over 500 people killed since last Saturday, according to monitoring groups
