Breaking: Fire guts Golden Tulip Hotel, Port Harcourt

A popular hotel in Port Harcourt, Golden Tulip located at Evo road new GRA was gutted by fire today.

Our reporter Tina Amanda who witnessed the inferno reports that it started in one of the rooms on the first floor before the hotel staff battled to put out the fire with their equipment.

The Human Resource Manager of the hotel, Paul who spoke to our reporter explained that the fire was noticed by one of the house keepers who raised an alarm which led to the switching
on of the fire alarms.

He also said that investigation is
ongoing to discover the cause of the fire.

Some guest at the hotel who gave an account of their experience said the hotel was able to evacuatethe guest on time as well as manage the fire with the hotel equipment before the arrival of the fire service.
