Breaking: Police kill 2 kidnappers during shootout in Rivers State

Men of the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit have gunned down two kidnappers during a shootout inside a bush in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State

The kidnappers had on Monday January 7,2019 whisked away their female victim from Obio/Akpor Local Government Area to a bush in Khana LGA.

The kidnappers were said to have demanded for a ransom of N30million before the victim could be released but later accepted to collect one million naira.

On sighting the police during the process of collecting the ransom, the kidnappers opened fire on the security agents which resulted in the death of two kidnappers.

Parading one of the arrested kidnappers along with their operational vehicle, cash and riffles, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni described the development as a giant stride under the command of the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Usman Belle.
