Niger LGA spends N47m in 60 boreholes

The Rafi Local Government in Niger has spent N47 million on construction of 60 motorised boreholes in different parts of the area.

The local government Chairman, Alhaji Gambo Kagara, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Minna on Monday.

Kagara said the council embarked on the projects because of its commitment to providing potable water for both human beings and animals.

He explained that the project had since been inaugurated and handed over to the community leaders for proper supervision.

The chairman said the council would continue to initiate people-oriented programme that would enhance the well-being of the people irrespective of political party differences.

He urged residents to volunteer information on movement of bad elements in their midst.
