Steady Fitness Club plans mini-marathon in November

The Steady Run fitness club says it will organize a mini-marathon in the city of Port Harcourt in November.

The founder and President of the Club, Steady Onome stated this when the management of Steady Run fitness club paid a courtesy call to the Rivers State Commissioner of Sports, Boma Iyaye.

Steady Onome said the vision of the club is to unite the state by coming out every week to participate in physical exercises. He stated that that the mini marathon will be an all-comers affair.

He also said that the marathon is another platform to encourage fitness lovers across the country to stay fit.

The Commissioner, while receiving Steady Run fitness club in his office, promised to provide technical support to the club ahead of the mini marathon in Port Harcourt.

He said that Rivers State is the hub of sporting activities in the country and believes the event will showcase Port Harcourt to the world.

Boma Iyaye also commended the founder of Steady Run fitness club for bringing together people from different walks of life to participate in fitness exercises every week in Port Harcourt.

A Trustee Member of the club, Eugene Abels, said the club is using the marathon to project Port Harcourt to the world.

He added that other activities like street parties, Mixed Martial Arts MMA and Kickboxing will be included in the event to make the marathon a memorable one.

Eugene Abels also said that prizes will be won during the marathon.

He stated that participants will be examined before embarking on the marathon, adding that those with heart-related illnesses will not be allowed to take part in the exercise.

The mini marathon is expected to take place on November 24, 2018, in Port Harcourt.
