Breaking: Rivers APC adopts indirect primaries

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress has adopted indirect primaries for the 2018 state primaries. The party, in a meeting of stakeholders, held on Thursday at 10.am at the party’s secretariat Aba road Port Harcourt was chaired by Flag Ojukaye Amachree.

In a vote carried out to decide the mode of the primaries, 106 members voted for indirect primaries, while 2 members voted for consensus and a member voted for direct primaries.

Those in attendance include all state executives and some national assembly members, state house of assembly members, appointees of various boards in the federal government and former legislators, commissioners, and other party bigwigs in the state.
Members of the Magnus Abe’s faction were not present due to the lingering leadership crises that have rocked the party since May.
