Gale of reactions due to the adoption of Arc. Tonye Dele Cole by the Minister of Transport, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as the candidate to run for the office of the Rivers State governor under the All Progressive Congress in 2019 has continued.
A political stalwart of the All Progressive Congress in the state, Chief Hon. Barr. Brave Wobo, who is also an aspirant for the PHALGA federal constituency 1 for the house of representative in a chat with TPCN reporter, Lorine Emenike said the decision for Cole to be APC’s candidate was not Amaechi’s own alone.
Chief Wobo stated that the decision for Dele Cole to run for governor come 2019, is not only the Ministers choice but rather a collective choice of all the state APC chieftains that attended the recent meeting in Lagos state where Arc. Dele Cole was adopted as the best candidate for governor come 2019.
He said “As a successful businessman who is running a conglomerate with no past record of bankruptcy or fraud, and a successful home builder, Dele Cole is no doubt the best choice for Rivers State APC gubernatorial candidate come 2019”
He made comparisons with the present American President, Trump, who had no political office record but has successfully revived the economy of America simply because of his wealth of experience and good managerial skills.
He also made references to the late M.K.O. Abiola who Also was given the opportunity to run for the presidency in the country because of his wealth of success in his business.
He said “Rivers people should be concerned about the reviving and restoring of the state’s economy and not be bothered if Dele Cole has any political experience”
“Nobody was born with the word politician inscribed on his forehead. Governor Ambode, Lagos State governor was also adopted as Lagos state governor because of his wealth of experience and his record of success as a businessman.
“Ambode is not only being a good governor but he has raised the economy of the state to an admirable height. Any man that can adequately run his home and businesses can as well lead and govern a state well.
He noted that Tonye Dele Cole is an uniter, a man with the wealth of experience and a man loved by all. He said Rivers people should desist from being bothered about Cole’s wealth of experience as a politician but should be concerned about the betterment of Rivers state and Rivers people.
He said besides the adoption of Arc. Cole as a consensus candidate for APC governor, Rivers state APC will still hold its primaries, the State INEC and other observers will still be on the ground, and acceptance speech will be given by Cole as the consensus candidate.
He prayed for the enabling health, finance and wisdom for Cole to liberate Rivers state from the PDP state-led governor.
He said adopting Arc. Cole was the best recent decision and choice the minister of transport has made in the recent time.
