Nigeria-eligible striker Chizaram Ezenwata has signed a new contract with Chelsea, extending his stay at the English Premier League club until at least June 2029.
The 18-year-old forward earned the extension after an impressive 2025/26 campaign with Chelsea’s Under-18 side, where he established himself as one of the academy’s promising attacking talents.
Ezenwata scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 21 appearances for the Under-18s last season, earning a nomination for the Under-18 Premier League Player of the Season award.
His performances have helped him progress through Chelsea’s development system. He made his Premier League 2 debut against Manchester City during the 2024/25 season and has since gained further experience at youth and development-team level.
The new deal represents another milestone in the striker’s development as he works towards securing more opportunities with Chelsea’s senior team.
Ezenwata has also represented England at youth level, including at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, where he scored a hat-trick in an 8-1 victory over Haiti. He has since featured for England’s Under-19s, scoring three goals across three matches during the September and October international windows.
Despite his involvement with England’s youth teams, Ezenwata remains eligible to represent Nigeria at senior international level, making his progress an important development for Nigerian football supporters.
With his future at Chelsea secured until 2029, the young forward will aim to maintain his form, continue developing his game and move closer to his ambition of breaking into the club’s first team.
