Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has denied endorsing Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Senator Ishaku Abbo, describing a social media report making the claim as fake.
Wike’s position was conveyed in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja and signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
The report had attributed comments to the minister, claiming he urged Adamawa residents to make careful choices at the polls and described Abbo as the most suitable candidate to lead the state.
However, Wike dismissed the report, stating that he had no affiliation with the Labour Party or any of its candidates in Adamawa State. He insisted that he had neither endorsed Abbo nor declared support for any other LP candidate.
The minister urged residents to disregard the publication, stressing that if he decided to support any candidate, he would make his position known publicly.
