EuroMatch NPFL Matchday 7 Players Scorecard

The EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 7 produced another entertaining round of fixtures, with 22 goals scored across the league as seven teams secured victories and three matches ended in draws.

Sports247 gathered that several players delivered outstanding individual performances, from record-breaking milestones and match-winning goals to crucial saves that earned valuable points for their respective clubs.

Here are the standout performers from Matchday 7:

Kayode Oke — Bendel Insurance | Forward

Kayode Oke was one of the outstanding performers of Matchday 7, inspiring Bendel Insurance to a convincing 4-1 victory over in-form Barau FC.

The forward scored twice, opening the scoring in the 33rd minute before completing his brace in the 78th minute. Suraju Lawal and Jonathan James also found the net as the Benin Gunners ended Barau FC’s unbeaten run.

One of Oke’s goals has already emerged as a strong contender for one of the best strikes of the season.

Godwin Obaje — Rangers International | Forward

It was a landmark weekend for Rangers International striker Godwin Obaje, who reached the historic milestone of 100 NPFL goals.

The Flying Antelopes forward was honoured for his achievement in the presence of dignitaries, teammates, and supporters before going on to add another goal to his remarkable tally.

Obaje scored Rangers’ opener in the 37th minute of their 3-1 victory over Abia Warriors, taking his career league tally to 101 NPFL goals.

Clinton Lawani — Sporting Lagos | Goalkeeper

Sporting Lagos goalkeeper Clinton Lawani produced a commanding performance in the 1-1 draw against Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

The goalkeeper made several crucial saves to keep Sporting Lagos in the contest and prevent the hosts from completing a comeback victory.

His impressive display earned him the Man of the Match award, highlighting his growing importance to the Lagos-based side.

Clinton Andy Ezekiel — Rivers United | Goalkeeper

Flying Eagles’ goalkeeper Clinton Andy Ezekiel continued his impressive form as Rivers United defeated Ikorodu City 2-0.

The 20-year-old kept another clean sheet, taking his tally to five clean sheets in seven NPFL appearances this season.

Ezekiel has conceded just two goals in seven league matches, establishing himself as one of the most consistent young goalkeepers in the competition.

Nura AbdulBari — Katsina United | Midfielder

Nura AbdulBari delivered an influential performance for Katsina United, scoring the opening goal in the 34th minute of their 1-1 draw away to Inter Lagos.

The former Barau FC midfielder has also made an encouraging start to life at Katsina United, having assisted the winning goal on his debut against Niger Tornadoes.

His ability to contribute both goals and assists has made him an important attacking outlet for the club.

Ifeanyi Ihemwkwele — Enyimba FC | Forward

Former Ijebu United striker Ifeanyi Ihemwkwele continued his impressive start with Enyimba by scoring in consecutive matches.

The young forward opened the scoring in the 29th minute as the nine-time Nigerian champions secured their first maximum points of the league campaign with a 2-0 victory over Plateau United in Aba.

Richard Ezinna added the second goal as Enyimba secured a much-needed victory.

Matchday 7 in Numbers

From Obaje’s historic century to Oke’s brace and the goalkeeping heroics of Lawani and Ezekiel, Matchday 7 produced several performances worthy of recognition.
