A 19-year-old Nigerian, Gift Ayoola, has been sentenced to four years in prison by Cardiff Crown Court in the United Kingdom for recording and distributing sexual abuse material involving children.
Ayoola was sentenced on Wednesday after pleading guilty to offences including making and distributing indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornography, and causing or inciting children to engage in sexual activity.
The court heard that Ayoola targeted children online, encouraged them to engage in sexual activities, recorded some of the interactions and distributed the material to paedophiles.
According to Wales Online, investigators recovered hundreds of indecent images from his devices, including 455 Category A images, 401 Category B images and 389 Category C images. Some of the material was allegedly produced through recordings made by Ayoola.
The court also heard that Ayoola participated in Telegram and WhatsApp groups where indecent images of children were distributed and sold. Prosecutors said he received payments through PayPal, including £5,000 from one buyer.

Ayoola was first arrested in January 2025 at his home in Cardiff, after police seized several electronic devices containing indecent images of children.
He was arrested again on March 5, 2026, and further indecent images were reportedly found on his devices, including material involving children as young as four.
During sentencing, Judge Vanessa Francis described the offences as a serious form of sexual abuse, saying the children’s trust and vulnerability had been exploited.
Ayoola’s lawyer, Martha Smith-Higgins, told the court that her client had lost his mother at the age of six and later moved to the UK. She said he was remorseful for his actions.
The judge rejected claims that Ayoola’s offences were not sexually motivated. He was consequently made subject to sex offender notification requirements indefinitely and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.
