The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Rivers State Command, has pledged to strengthen its operations and improve its response to crime across the state.
The Commandant of the Rivers State Command, Dennis Reuben, made the commitment while highlighting the achievements of the command during his first 100 days in office.
Reuben attributed the progress recorded during the period to the grace of God and the commitment of officers and men of the command.“First of all, I want to give all glory to Almighty God.
He is the one that gave me the strength and ability to do what you have seen today,” he said.The commandant also commended his lieutenants, officers and men for their dedication and support, noting that their collective efforts had contributed significantly to the achievements recorded under his leadership.
Reuben assured residents that the NSCDC would intensify its efforts to combat crime and improve security across Rivers State, promising “more quick response to crime, dependable allies and closer security forces.

”He urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible and actionable information that could assist authorities in preventing and responding to criminal activities.
The commandant described the relationship between the NSCDC and residents of Rivers State as cordial, assuring members of the public that the command would continue to maintain professionalism in its dealings with civilians.
“We do not use our uniform to intimidate the public. We do our job with diligence, and our relationship has been very cordial,” Reuben said.
On his plans for the command, he disclosed that efforts were underway to secure a permanent operational site, acquire additional patrol vehicles and improve manpower development through specialised training.
Reuben expressed confidence that the Rivers State Command would record greater achievements in the coming months, stressing his determination to continue delivering results throughout his tenure.“I want to achieve and achieve. Even on the last day I am due to leave here,” he said.
