Rivers State Government Sends Real Madrid Academy Port Harcourt Students to Europe for Training Tour
The Rivers State Government has sent over 60 students and officials of the Real Madrid Academy Port Harcourt on a month-long training tour in Europe.
The contingent departed from the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, en route to the United Kingdom.
The team, led by former Nigerian goalkeeper and football mentor Pastor Idah Peterside, will undergo training and gain international football experience during the tour.
The team expressed appreciation to Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for sponsoring the trip, while also thanking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for coordinating the visa process with the British High Commission in Abuja.
