The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has adjusted the reporting time for candidates scheduled for the first session of the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Under the new arrangement, candidates are now expected to arrive at their designated Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres by 7:30 am, instead of the previously scheduled 6:30 am.
The examination will run from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.
JAMB announced the adjustment in its weekly bulletin released in Abuja, citing safety and logistical concerns associated with candidates travelling to examination centres in the early hours.
The board said the earlier reporting time was particularly challenging for candidates travelling long distances, as some would have had to leave their homes before dawn to arrive at their centres by 6:30 am.

According to JAMB, the decision followed deliberations at its 2026 Management and Information Technology Retreat held in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, from September 6 to 11.
The retreat considered concerns raised by members of the public regarding the safety and convenience of candidates travelling during the early hours of the morning.
JAMB said moving the reporting time to 7:30 am would provide candidates with more convenient travel conditions and potentially reduce absenteeism linked to difficulties associated with early-morning journeys.
The board advised candidates scheduled for the first session to take note of the revised reporting and examination times ahead of the 2027 UTME.
