Nigeria’s e-hailing market is set to welcome a new indigenous player as PromiseLand Innovations Limited prepares to launch ProTaxi on October 1, 2026.
The ride-hailing platform is positioning itself around affordable fares, technology-driven mobility, and environmentally friendly transportation, with a particular focus on the adoption of electric vehicles.
According to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Lawrence Oloche, ProTaxi was developed as a homegrown platform designed to connect passengers with drivers while providing safer, reliable, and cost-effective transportation within cities.
The company believes the use of electric vehicles could help reduce operating expenses for drivers, potentially lowering transportation costs for passengers.
“We believe getting around should be easy, affordable and environmentally responsible,” the company said.
ProTaxi will allow passengers to book rides through its mobile application and connect with available drivers in their locations. The platform also features personalised location services, multiple payment options, trip information and access to drivers’ receipts.
Safety features include driver verification, real-time trip tracking, passenger ratings and reviews. Riders will also be able to share their live locations with family and friends, enabling them to monitor their journeys in real time.

For drivers, the platform offers flexible working arrangements. Drivers can choose to operate full-time or work during selected hours, giving them greater control over their schedules and earning opportunities.
Beyond its immediate launch, ProTaxi has set a long-term ambition of becoming one of Africa’s leading eco-friendly ride-hailing platforms by promoting sustainable and affordable mobility and encouraging the adoption of clean-energy transportation.
The business is owned by Ambassador Lawrence Oloche, who also leads PromiseLand Estate’s initiative to develop 100,000 housing units across Nigeria, beginning with the Federal Capital Territory.
The launch of ProTaxi represents an expansion of PromiseLand’s business interests from real estate into technology-driven transportation, two sectors that play an important role in everyday urban life.
The company’s entry into the e-hailing industry comes amid rising transportation and vehicle operating costs in Nigeria, creating room for local technology companies to explore alternative mobility models.
PromiseLand Innovations is betting that a combination of electric vehicles, technology, and locally developed solutions can help ProTaxi compete in Nigeria’s increasingly competitive e-hailing market while providing passengers with more affordable transportation options.
Ahead of the October 1 launch, the company said the ProTaxi rider application is already available for iPhone and Android devices, as well as through its website.
