Renaissance Africa Energy Company has pledged support for efforts to position Bonny Kingdom in Rivers State as a major tourism and investment destination beyond its traditional oil and gas economy.
The company’s Managing Director and CEO, Tony Attah, stated this at the Bonny Island Tourism and Investment Summit, tagged “Discover Bonny”.
Attah said the initiative would showcase Bonny’s history, culture, heritage and hospitality while creating new economic opportunities for residents.
He said Renaissance’s support reflected its confidence in Bonny’s leadership and its potential to develop a sustainable tourism economy.
“Our role as a Tier 1 partner is not ceremonial. It is a statement of confidence in Bonny’s potential,” Attah said.
He added that tourism could complement the kingdom’s established energy industry by diversifying its economy, creating jobs and strengthening its global profile.

The Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, said the kingdom had significant potential in tourism, culture, commerce and investment.
Also speaking, the Managing Director and CEO of Nigeria LNG Ltd., Adeleye Falade, called for stronger collaboration among companies operating in Bonny to transform the kingdom from an industrial centre into a global tourist destination.
The summit brought together government officials, traditional rulers, investors and private-sector leaders to discuss destination development, heritage preservation, sustainable tourism and investment opportunities.
Bonny’s attractions include the Amanyanabo’s Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the historic British Consulate and Finima Nature Park, alongside its mangrove ecosystem.
The kingdom, which hosts major oil and gas facilities including the Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal and Nigeria LNG, was recently endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy as a tourism destination.
