Operatives of the Rumuolumeni OSPAC, led by Commander Kenneth Olumeni, have reportedly apprehended a suspect following a shooting incident at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The suspect, identified as Mr Smith, was allegedly among a group that stormed the university campus on Wednesday and opened fire, causing panic among students and staff.
A stray bullet reportedly struck a student during the incident. The victim was subsequently taken to the university hospital for medical attention.
While other members of the group reportedly escaped, OSPAC operatives apprehended Smith and recovered a Toyota Corolla allegedly linked to the suspects.

The vehicle, according to reports, bears Bayelsa State registration number NEM-425AE.
The latest incident comes barely two days after a similar shooting reportedly occurred at the university on Monday, further heightening concerns over security on the campus.
The development also follows the university management’s decision to suspend all remaining activities for the Students’ Union Government Week and direct students to return to their classes for normal academic activities.
Authorities are expected to provide further details as investigations into the incident continue.
