President Bola Tinubu has sent his deepest condolences to the former Governor of Rivers State and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, following the passing of his mother, Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi.
The Port City News (TCPN) earlier reported that the Amaechi family matriarch passed away on Thursday at the age of 89,
Tinubu in a statehouse statement issued on Friday by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, expressed deep sadness over the loss.
He described the late elder statesman as a devout Christian and an exemplary pillar of humility and selfless service.
The President highlighted the deceased’s deep commitment to her Catholic faith and her steadfast dedication to instilling strong family values, which produced children dedicated to public service.
He added that her life beautifully mirrored the core virtues of love, kindness, sacrifice, and perseverance, earning her the respect of everyone in her community.
Tinubu urged the grieving family, the Catholic faithful, and the people of Rivers State to find comfort in the rich legacy of dignity, faith, and societal contribution she left behind.
Extending his prayers to the family during this challenging time, the President prayed for the eternal repose of Dame Mary Amaechi’s soul and for divine fortitude for those she left behind.
