The Rivers State Ministry of Education has lifted the suspension on Wisdom Gate International School, Campus 1, located in Eligbolo, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, after confirming that the institution has complied with safety requirements.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Peters Nwagor, said the decision followed a detailed assessment by officials of the ministry, which verified that the school had upgraded its facilities and met the safety standards earlier outlined by the government.
According to the ministry, the school is now permitted to resume academic activities with immediate effect. However, its management has been directed to strictly adhere to all safety regulations and ensure that conditions that led to its suspension do not occur again.

The commissioner stressed that the state government would continue to monitor schools across Rivers to ensure compliance with approved standards aimed at protecting the lives of pupils, students, teachers and other members of the school community.
He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to maintaining safe and conducive learning environments in both public and private educational institutions across the state.
The ministry also urged school owners and administrators to regularly inspect their facilities, address identified safety concerns promptly and comply with all directives issued by relevant authorities, warning that schools found to be in violation of established safety standards would face appropriate sanctions in line with existing regulations.
