The Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board (RSPHCMB) has conducted a data analysis of the second quarter of 2026 and made recommendations which will guide the efforts to enhance the delivery of primary healthcare services in the state.
This data analysis exercise was held during the Quarter Two 2026 Primary Health Care Data Review Meeting that was organized by the Planning, Research & Statistics Department of the Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board (RSPHCMB) in its headquarters, Port Harcourt.
The meeting involved participation of Medical Officers of Health, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Programme Managers, Directors, and development partners comprising WHO, UNICEF, CHAI, and Corona Management among others.

The review was done to analyze the performance of various programmes implemented by the Board across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state using the data of the first quarter compared to the second quarter of 2026.
Dr. Chituru Adele, Executive Secretary of the Board, indicated that routine health data continue to be important for the improvement of health care service delivery because every statistic reflects people who depend on the availability of quality primary health care services. The Board will ensure that the collected data will be transformed into tangible actions that will lead to health improvement.
In his presentation, Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Dr. Dede Siyeofori, provided a comparison of the performance of the programmes and also identified the high-performing local government areas and those councils that need specific interventions to perform. The review was carried out for the purpose of evidence-based planning and programming.
The Board decided to prioritize efforts towards improving the quality of data, data reporting and validation in the next 30 days, especially in the priority local government areas.
