Determined to secure victory in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress APC, in Bayelsa State, has commenced reconciliation of aspirants who participated in the recently concluded party primaries across the state.
The reconciliation move, according to the party’s chairman in the state, Rt. Hon. Warman Weri Ogoriba, aimed at building a strong front ahead of the polls.
During the event on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Ogoriba charged APC stakeholders to prioritize the party’s interest above personal interest, even as he urged aspirants to support party’s candidates who emerged during the primaries.
He stressed on the need for APC to activate grassroots strategy to strengthen the party while emphasizing on the importance of stakeholders engagement.
According to him, the reconciliation move was also targeted at eliminating any form of post-primary crisis and unite aspirants.
The event was attending by the Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Pastor Peter Pereotubo Akpe, who described the meeting as a significant step toward strengthening the party in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, held at the APC State Secretariat, brought together government officials, party leaders, stakeholders, and aspirants in a show of unity, commitment, and shared determination to reposition the party for electoral success in 2027.
Addressing the gathering, the party leadership emphasized the need for reconciliation, unity of purpose, and collective responsibility, stressing that APC remained one united family with a common objective of delivering victory for all its candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
Aspirants were encouraged to remain steadfast, continue mobilizing support at the grassroots, and work harmoniously in the overall interest of the party.
The meeting also served as an opportunity to deliberate on key issues affecting the party, strengthen internal cohesion, and fine-tune strategies aimed at ensuring the APC presents a formidable front capable of reclaiming and consolidating political victories across Bayelsa State.
Others who attended the event were the Special Adviser on Political matters to the Governor, High Chief Collins Cocodia, the immediate past party chairman, Chief Dennis Otiotio-Odoni, State Secretary of the APC, Barr.
Japane Udoji, former chairman of APC, Chief Tiwei Orunimighe, APC State Women Leader, Hon. Rose Itoko Amadi, the Deputy State Chairman, Hon. Ayobegha James, alongside other members of the state working committee, party executives, and stakeholders.
