The Rivers State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), CN Offor Kenneth Onyeso, on Wednesday, July 8, paid a courtesy and War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy visit to His Royal Majesty, King Ateke Michael Tom, the Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom in Okrika Local Government Area.
During the visit, the NDLEA boss expressed gratitude to the revered monarch for his consistent support and collaboration with the agency in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking. He sought the king’s continued partnership in promoting the WADA campaign across Okrika and neighbouring communities to foster a drug-free society.

Responding, HRM Ateke Tom commended the NDLEA for its sustained efforts in tackling the menace of illicit drugs. He reaffirmed his commitment to the agency’s mandate and pledged to continue sensitising his subjects on the dangers of substance abuse.
The royal engagement formed part of the State Commander’s wider working visit to the area.
CN Onyeso later proceeded to the NDLEA Okrika Area Command, where he carried out an on-the-spot inspection of facilities and operational activities.
He interacted with officers and men of the command, commending them for their dedication to duty while urging them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and commitment in the discharge of their responsibilities.
