Rivers Angels coach Tosan Blankson says he is to blame for the teams performance this season. The team from Port Harcourt did not win any trophies in the 2025/26 season.
Rivers Angels have won the Nigeria Women Football League seven times.. This season they had a lot of problems and could not win the league title again. They also lost the President Federation Cup.
Rivers Angels wanted to keep the Federation Cup. They lost to Robo Queens in the quarter-finals. They also tried to win the league title. It did not work out.
Tosan Blankson says the team did not do well and he is responsible for it.
He said “I did not do a job with Rivers Angels at the end of the season.”
He also said “I take responsibility for not getting the right results with Rivers Angels.”
The people who support Rivers Angels will probably agree with what Tosan Blankson said. They were hoping the team would win trophies this season.
Even though the season was bad Tosan Blankson is hopeful about the future. He thinks the team can do better season.
He said “A new season is coming. I am sorry to the fans and people of Rivers State.”
It seems like the team is already planning to make some changes for the 2026/27 season.
Now Rivers Angels will try to fix their mistakes and come back stronger. The team has a history and the fans are very passionate. They will want to win titles and be one of the best teams in Nigerian womens football.
The next few months will be very important, for Tosan Blankson and his players. They want to use this season to motivate themselves to do better next time with Rivers Angels.
