Galaxy Backbone Limited has marked its 20th anniversary with a Digital Transformation Summit, bringing together top government officials, lawmakers, and private sector stakeholders to review progress in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, said on Wednesday in Abuja that the organisation has played a key role in strengthening Nigeria’s digital infrastructure, connectivity, and cybersecurity systems.
Akume made the remarks during the summit, where he commended Galaxy Backbone for its contributions to digital governance and public service delivery.
In a statement by Galaxy Backbone Limited, the organisation said the summit formed part of activities marking its 20th anniversary and was aimed at deepening collaboration on Nigeria’s digital future.
It said the event was attended by the SGF, members of the National Assembly, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, and private sector leaders.
Galaxy Backbone noted that stakeholders acknowledged its role over the past two decades in enabling digital governance through cloud services, connectivity, and cybersecurity support to public institutions.
Akume said Nigeria’s future governance and economic growth would depend on how effectively digital technology is deployed across government institutions.
He called for stronger collaboration among federal, state, and local governments to accelerate digital adoption and improve service delivery.
The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda and strengthening digital infrastructure for national development.
It added that it will continue expanding digital services and innovation to enhance government operations and support economic growth.
