Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, the current National President of the Authentic Nigerian Female and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC), has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to give Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle its full support as he works to return the team to the summit of African football.
Ogunjimi expresses the feelings that the coach Franco-malian tactician can help Nigeria win the Africa Cup of Nations for the time. He thinks this is because the team has been doing well since the coach started working with them. The team has won the Africa Cup of Nations three times before.
He said that the coach showed that he knows what he is doing during the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The Super Eagles came in third place.
Ogunjimi also likes that the coach led the team to win the Unity Cup in London two years in a row. He thinks the coach is doing a job, with the Nigeria team the Super Eagles.
“Éric Chelle has shown flashes of what he can do with this team,” Ogunjimi said. “Winning the Unity Cup twice and his performance at the AFCON are clear indications that he has the capacity to build a strong and competitive Super Eagles side.”
National President of the Authentic Nigerian Female and Allied Sports Supporters Club insisted the federation must meet all reasonable technical and logistical demands from the coach to build an environment conducive to long-term success.
“If we truly want the Super Eagles to return to the summit of African football, the federation must back the coach fully and give him all the tools he needs,” he said.
Ogunjimi also appealed to fans to remain patient and maintain their support while Chelle continues his rebuilding process.
