Emohua Chief Tasks Colleagues On Generosity

…Urges Youths To Shun Violence

By Kelechi Esogwa-Amadi

A prominent chief in Omudioga Clan, in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chief Hon. Sam A. Uzuobor, has advised his fellow chiefs in the state in particular and Nigeria in general to lend hands of charity to the poor and less privileged people in the society.

Speaking during the Peace and Economic Summit organized by the Ogbakor Ikwerre Youth Council of Nigeria recently in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital, Chief Hon. Sam Uzuobor, who received an award of merit from the organizers of the event for his numerous positive contributions to society, charged his fellow chiefs to be open-minded and kind to people, especially those around them, adding that by so doing, the world would become a better place.

According to him, when somebody secludes himself from others or closes every door to prevent other people from reaching him, the person would end up closing every available opportunity that would have accrued to him and others.

He said: “Other chiefs should be open-minded. Assist the people around you so that they can be happy with you. Don’t close your door to those around you. When you close everything around you, you close every other opportunity.”

Chief Sam Uzuobor, who is the Eze Ugo 1 of Omudioga Clan, expressed joy over the Good Eagle Award given to him by the Ogbakor Ikwerre Youth Council of Nigeria. He said it would motivate him to do more for his people, especially the youths.

“I feel highly elated. In fact, I’m overwhelmed with joy. This award is a source of encouragement; it will definitely encourage me to do more. I thank the Ogbakor Ikwerre Youth Council of Nigeria for honouring me this way. I will always support the youths in whatever they’re doing because they’re the leaders of tomorrow. We need to keep supporting them to achieve their goals in life,” he said.

Chief Sam Uzuobor, who is also the chairman of Shell/Emohua Cluster Development Board, advised the youths of Rivers State as well as those of Niger Delta to shun violence and all manner of criminality and embrace hardwork, peace and fear of God so that their future would remain bright.
