APC Presidential Primary: Tinubu Sweeps All Votes in Rivers

President Bola Tinubu has recorded a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Rivers State, polling all the votes cast across the 23 local government areas.

Announcing the results on Saturday 23 May 2026, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who served as the State Coordinator and Collation Officer for the exercise, described the process as smooth and well-coordinated.

Governor Fubara while commending party officials and stakeholders for their efforts in ensuring a hitch-free primary across the state, attributed the success to proper planning and effective coordination by party leaders.

According to figures released by the governor, the APC had 297,068 registered members eligible to vote in the primary. Out of this number, 280,082 members were accredited and participated in the election.

Fubara declared that President Tinubu polled all the 280,082 votes cast, while his only opponent, businessman Stanley Osifo, scored zero votes in all the local government areas.

“I have taken time to go through the figures diligently and I hereby certify that the information contained in this form represents the true, correct and accurate summary of results from the 23 local government areas,” the governor stated.

He added that the final results would be transmitted to Abuja, but the outcome in Rivers State clearly showed that President Tinubu emerged the winner of the primary in the state.

The breakdown of results showed Obio/Akpor Local Government Area recorded the highest number of votes for Tinubu with 28,680 votes, this was followed by Port Harcourt City with 17,522 votes and Khana with 17,085 votes.
