Akuro Tobin, Chairman of Okrika Local Government Area (LGA) on Friday expressed satisfaction with the standard and progress of ongoing development projects across the council.
He inspected three major project sites within the LGA: the Kalio-Ama Landing Jetty and passengers’ waiting hall, the Central E-Library, and the NYSC Corps Members’ Lodge.Tobin commended the contractor, Trianvi Devigo Marble and Granite Company Ltd., for the pace and quality of work so far.
He also directed that an embankment be constructed around the waiting hall to serve as shoreline protection, noting that its proximity to the river made it vulnerable to erosion and structural damage.
At the Central E-Library site, the chairman also praised the level of work achieved and instructed the Council’s Director of Works, Engr. Love Nwokogba, to engage property owners in the area to allow for possible future expansion of the facility.
Tobin further inspected the NYSC Corps Members’ Lodge, where the foundation was laid three weeks earlier.
He applauded the contractor for the progress recorded, while stressing the importance of strict adherence to specifications and timely completion of the project.
Speaking to journalists after the inspection, he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering durable and high-quality infrastructure across the LGA, insisting that standards would not be compromised.
He was accompanied on the tour by the Vice Chairman, Charity Ibulubo; the Secretary of Council, Kwani Oforiokuma; the Leader of the 8th Legislative Assembly, Hon. Paul Abam; the Chief of Staff, Joe Atubokiki; political stakeholders; and senior council officials.
