Amid the Infrastructural decay affecting some of the government-owned public primary and secondary schools in Rivers State, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Peter Nwagor, has reaffirmed his commitment to repositioning the education sector in the state.
Nwagor gave this reaffirmation on Thursday, April 16, when he received a delegation from the Ogbakor Etche, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education IAUE chapter, at his office during a courtesy visit.
The education commissioner commended the group led by its chairman, Prof. Gift Nwiyi, for what he described as its support towards the advancement of education in the state.
Nwagor also hailed the IAUE chapter of Ogbakor Etche for their show of solidarity and support to his administration as the education commissioner.
He described the visit which he said was marked by unity and mutual respect as a symbolic gesture which according to him served as a strong source of encouragement.

Further commending the delegation for the gift presented to him by the group, Nwagor reassured of his unwavering resolve to advance the education sector in the state.
In their response, chairman of the group hailed the education commissioner over what he described as his leadership style and dedication to duty.
Nwiyi urged Nwagor to remain focused on his mandate to revitalize the education sector in the state.
He assured the education commissioner of the group’s support to his administration’s dedication to the advancement of education, even as they presented a gift which Nwiyi said demonstrated their collective backing and solidarity.
