The All Progressives Congress (APC) national Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and others have been screened by the party’s Aspirants’ Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention 2026 ahead of the Saturday national convention.
According to the Port City News (TCPN), aspirants who purchased and submitted Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to compete for national offices at the party’s convention were called for screening held at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja on Tuesday. The national chairman of the ruling party was cleared by Biodun Oyebanji, who served as Ekiti State Governor and chaired the screening and appeal committee.
In addition, he granted clearance to twenty-nine people for different roles in the party’s national working committee.At three different venues, the examination examined the credentials and other details of the candidates, with most of them being asked to take a break due to their previous positive management record.

The party’s schedule for its 2025/2026 national convention, as reported by this newspaper, included a detailed timetable that was released in December 2025. The convention will take place from Wednesday, March 25 to Saturday, 28 March, 2025.
The timetable, signed by the APC National Secretary Surajudeen Basiru, stressed strict adherence to Articles 11 and 17 of the party’S constitution which regulates membership, congresses and internal democracy. The agenda specifies a sequential, top-down approach that commences with registering and culminates in the selection of national party officers at the convention
.The publication indicates the official launch of arrangements for holding elections to the convention, which is widely regarded as a crucial factor in the APC’s organisational stability ahead.
