Bayelsa State is set to host the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) Extraordinary General Assembly on Monday, March 23, 2026.
His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, the Governor of Bayelsa State, will formally inaugurate the assembly at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall, located within the Government House in Yenagoa.
Notable attendees anticipated at the event include Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission; Hon. Bukola Olopade, Director General of the NSC; Senator Abdul Ningi, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports; and Hon. Kabiru Amadu, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports.
This Extraordinary General Assembly will convene Chairmen and Secretaries from all 36 State Football Associations and the FCT, in addition to members of the NFF Executive Committee and Management. Representatives from various leagues, the Coaches Association, the Referees Association, and the Players’ Union will also be present.
NFF President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), will present a welcome address prior to the commencement of the business session.
During the business session, the Congress will deliberate on proposed amendments to the current NFF Statutes, the NFF Electoral Code, and the Standing Orders of the General Assembly. Additionally, appointments for the NFF Electoral Committee, the NFF Electoral Appeals Committee, and the Independent Auditor of the NFF will be discussed.
