NUJ to Collaborate NYC on Youth Development

The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) has pledged to synergise with Nigeria Youth Congress in developing youths in the state.

Speaking when hosting State Executive Council of NYC at NuJ Secretariat, the Chairman of Council Comrade Paul Bazia- Nsaneh said the collaboration is aimed at channeling youth energy to champion a new economy for the state.

He said the state council of NUJ under his leadership has evolved a new narrative that will help in developing latent resources of the state.

Under this new narrative Comrade Nsaneh said the state will attract new investors and other key growth indices outside the usual oil sector.

He opined that the state is imbued with huge young talents that are capable to drive the blue econonmy of tourism, agriculture and other natural resources outside petroleum.

Earlier, State Chairman of NYC Ambassador Sheriff Ogobda Ekwo said the visit of the youth body is to intimate the NUJ and seek collaboration.

Ekwo disclosed that unlike other youth bodies the NYC is not divided or have any faction from the national to the state, noting that they have been recognised by the Rivers State Government as a formidable youth body.

In his words:” We want the NUJ to see us as their own. And we want you to take us as part of your own because we’re ready to advance youth development.”

He maintained that with the support of the NUJ the NYC will be able to achieve its mission of arming young people with skills and abilities to transform the future.
