A professional Cape Verdean referee Leónidas Lenine Barbosa Da Graca has been appointed by Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate the CAF Champions League Group Stage encounter between Rivers United of Nigeria and Power Dynamos of Zambia.
The center referee will be supported by fellow Cape Verdean Delgado Fernandes Wilson Jorge, who takes up the role of first assistant referee. While the coach was speaking to his team’s media, he reacted to the concerns about Dynamos’ inefficiency upfront, suggesting that it was not his responsibility.
The Power Dynamos said that; “Football is played with pressure. The way they are creating chances, he doesn’t think they are a team that can’t score. They are a team that, at any given time, can even score four goals. Of course they just have to believe in ourselves and have that self-confidence. Yes, they are missing a lot of chances, but he doesn’t think it is the coach who is supposed to go in and score those chances.”
