NSC Introduces Players Scouting Committee

Tunde Adelakun has been inaugurated as the chairman of its newly established Diaspora Talents Discovery Committee, by the esteemed leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

‎This recent development was announcement on Wednesday by Honourable Bukola Olopade, the Director General of the NSC, who made said the leadership of the commission, led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko, carefully selected Adelakun for his wealth of experience in sports, especially within the diaspora.

‎Honourable Bukola Olopade said that the committee is of great importance to the commission, as it will further strengthen the Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigeria’s sports development through scientific approaches to achieving sustainable podium excellence.

‎The Director General pointed out that “himself and the National Sport Commission Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko are very excited with the direction they are heading to ensure that they harness all the resources they have as a country, both at home and abroad, to achieve sports excellence, and this committee will take care of the diaspora aspect.”

‎He continue saying that—“the new committee chairman, Adelakun who has a very rich diaspora network and connections, will help the association to get thousands of Nigerian sons and daughters willing to represent our great country with pride and dignity.”

‎However, Tunde Adelakun, who is the newly appointed Chairman said that the appointment means a lot to him and described the initiative as one that will change the landscape of Nigerian sports.

‎In his statement, Tunde stated that “this his new responsibility is a case of adopting international best practices to harness all the resources, both at home and abroad, to attain sporting excellence. “He therefore made it clear that there are a lot of Nigerians in the diaspora who are willing to compete for the country, and their job is mainly to create that smooth platform that they deserve.”
