Obio/Akpor Chairman Distributes Christmas Rice to 17 Wards

As Christmas approaches, the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, Hon. Dr. Gift Worlu, has once again shown his deep commitment to the welfare of his people by distributing bags of rice to residents across the council’s 17 wards.

The distribution exercise, which commenced on Monday 22 December ahead of the festive season, is designed to bring relief and joy to families, particularly those facing economic challenges in the current harsh times.

Hon. Dr. Worlu, known for his people-centred governance, described the gesture as a modest way of sharing the blessings of the season with the good people of Obio/Akpor.

“This is a season of love, sharing and caring. As a government, we cannot fold our arms while our people celebrate. This rice distribution is our little way of identifying with households and putting smiles on their faces during Christmas,” the chairman said.

Council officials disclosed that the exercise was carefully coordinated to ensure equitable distribution, with ward councillors and community leaders overseeing the process in their respective areas to guarantee transparency and fairness.

The Christmas rice distribution adds to a series of pro-people initiatives under Dr. Worlu’s administration, further cementing his reputation as a responsive and compassionate leader dedicated to improving the lives of Obio/Akpor citizens.

As the yuletide festivities draw near, this act of generosity continues to resonate across the local government area, embodying the true spirit of Christmas.
