Governor Fubara, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Benibo Anabraba, gave the charge during the 40th Anniversary celebration of Bishop Crowther Memorial Secondary School, Port Harcourt, on Saturday.

He emphasized that every individual has a role to play in nation-building and encouraged students to uphold the institution’s core values of discipline, integrity, and excellence, which he described as essential virtues for future leaders.

The Governor commended the Church for its continuous role in promoting moral and intellectual development through education, noting that the collaboration between faith-based institutions and the government remains vital to the growth of society.

The event, which drew dignitaries, alumni, and students, also featured the Bishop of the Diocese of Evo, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Innocent Ordu, DSSRS. A major highlight was the unveiling of a newly constructed two-story dormitory named after the school’s pioneer principal, the late Mr Francis Bomo Pog-Osia, in recognition of his contributions to the school’s foundation and growth.

Earlier in the day, Governor Fubara attended the 2025 Harvest of Our Savior’s Anglican Church, Rukpakwolusi, Port Harcourt, where he read the only lesson from the Gospel of John 10:1–11.

While addressing the congregation, the Governor reaffirmed his dedication to upholding transparency and good governance in the state. He expressed appreciation to the Church for its continuous prayers and support for peace, unity, and progress in Rivers State
