The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will on Friday, October 3, 2025, inaugurate the Governor’s Annual Lecture Series at the Honeywell Auditorium, Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University.
Themed “Next Generation Leadership in Monetary Policy and Nation Building,” the lecture is the first in a flagship platform created under the CBN Governor’s Knowledge Acceleration and Thought Leadership Initiative. The series is aimed at fostering dialogue between the apex bank and stakeholders in academia, business, policy, and civil society.
According to the CBN, the initiative is designed to deepen conversations around monetary policy, strengthen institutional knowledge, and spotlight the role of leadership in shaping Nigeria’s economic future. It will serve as a meeting point for policymakers, industry captains, academics, and students from leading tertiary institutions.
The inaugural edition coincides with the second anniversary of the Cardoso-led management of the CBN. Over the past two years, the administration has pursued reforms credited with stabilizing the naira, improving critical economic indicators, and reviving international investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.

The choice of Lagos Business School as the first host venue underscores the institution’s reputation as a center of excellence in leadership, business education, and policy innovation. The Bank noted that the university provides an ideal setting for rigorous debate and for bridging theory with practical economic challenges.
Through this annual lecture series, the CBN seeks to reaffirm its dual commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s macroeconomic stability and preparing the next generation of leaders to sustain ongoing reforms.
The platform is expected to become a cornerstone for strategic engagement and intellectual exchange on how monetary policy can support stability, growth, and nation-building in Nigeria.
