Flamingos Extend Unbeaten Run With 5 Goals Win

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, known as the Flamingos, has continued their remarkable preparation for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup by achieving a commanding 5–0 victory over Horvel Prime in a friendly match held on Sunday at the training pitch of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

‎Forward Queen Joseph was the standout player, scoring a first-half hat-trick with goals in the 4th, 31st, and 35th minutes. Shakirat Moshood and Azeezat Oduntan also contributed to the scoreline, completing the rout.

‎The Flamingos have now achieved eight victories in eight friendly matches in preparation for the global tournament, netting 27 goals while maintaining a flawless defensive record with eight clean sheets.

‎Nigeria has been placed in Group B of the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which is set to commence on October 17 in Morocco. The host nation will face Brazil in the opening match of the tournament.

‎The Flamingos will kick off their campaign against Canada on October 19, followed by matches against France on October 22 and Samoa on October 25.

‎The Round of 16 is scheduled to commence on October 28, with the quarterfinals planned for November 1. The semifinals and final are set to occur on November 5 and 8, respectively.

‎With an impeccable pre-tournament record, the Flamingos seem well-prepared for a strong performance on the global stage.
