UK-based Nigerian pastor and founder of SPAC Nation, Tobi Adegboyega, has shared a heartfelt update on his health following a recent cancer surgery, revealing that he is now preparing to begin chemotherapy, the next phase of his treatment.

In a video circulating online, the celebrity pastor spoke candidly about his recovery journey, expressing gratitude for life and the support he has received. “This is proof of life. I’m alive and I’m recovering. I have gone through the surgery, and then there is the cinematography treatment afterwards,” he said, mistakenly referring to chemotherapy.

Adegboyega, known for his flamboyant style and youth-focused ministry, first disclosed his battle with cancer earlier this year. In his latest message, he acknowledged the cultural stigma surrounding illness in Nigeria, noting that many would respond to such news with religious rebukes rather than acceptance.

“When you tell Nigerians this, they will say it’s not your portion in Jesus’ name, but it was my portion and I have faced it like a man should,” he said.

He emphasised the importance of confronting reality with courage and faith, rather than denial. The pastor also thanked his followers and well-wishers for their prayers and support during what he described as a challenging but enlightening period.

Adegboyega’s openness has sparked conversations around health awareness, especially within faith communities, where illness is often spiritualized or dismissed. His message stands as a call for compassion, realism, and strength in the face of adversity.
