Young John Says He’s Not Ready For Love

Young John

Nigerian music star Young Jonn has opened up about his current relationship mindset, revealing that he’s not in a place to commit to one woman and is instead embracing platonic relationships.

The Dada crooner made the revelation during a recent appearance on the ‘Way Up’ podcast hosted by Angela Yee, where he candidly discussed his emotional availability and personal growth.

“Everybody loves love. I mean, love is wonderful,” he said. “But I’m not really in that space where I can give so much of me to one person. So, I’m just keeping it platonic with everybody.”

Young Jonn, 30, explained that while he values love, he doesn’t want to enter a serious relationship only to fall short of the emotional commitment it requires.

“I don’t want a serious relationship right now,” he added. “Because I feel like I won’t be able to give that person as much as I’m supposed to. So why put them in that situation?”

His comments come shortly after reports surfaced about the end of his rumored romance with Adenike Adeleke, popularly known as Nikos Living, who is Davido’s cousin. The pair had sparked dating speculation in early 2024 after Nikos shared cozy photos and posts featuring Young Jonn.

By August 2025, fans noticed signs of a breakup, including the duo unfollowing each other on social media and deleting shared photos, fueling speculation that the relationship had quietly ended.

Young Jonn’s honesty has drawn mixed reactions online, with some fans praising his self-awareness and others wondering if his stance reflects a broader trend among celebrities navigating fame and emotional boundaries.
