‎Remo Stars’ Sodiq Nears Altach 1929 FC Switch‎

According to a recent report, it is stated that Super Eagles defender Ismail Sodiq is close to finalizing a transfer to the Austrian club Altach 1929.

‎Super Eagles B and Remo Stars wingback Sodiq Ismail was likely to miss the 2024 African Nations Championship if he had proceeded with his rumored transfer to Albanian team FK Partizani, following an impressive season with Remo Stars.

‎The right-back was part of the Remo Stars team that secured the title last season. The 22-year-old is considered one of the top defenders in the NPFL.

‎Sadiq was included in the home-based Super Eagles squad for the 2024 African Nations Championship.

‎Since emerging in the Nigeria Premier Football League in 2023, the 21-year-old has earned the title of assist king, thanks to his significant contributions to his teammates’ goals.

‎During the 2023/24 season, he recorded 13 assists and one goal as his team finished in second place in the NPFL.
‎ ‎This season, he has also begun scoring, having already found the net three times.

‎Statistics reveal that Ismail was among the goalscorers as Nigeria defeated Ghana 3-1 on aggregate in their recent encounter.

‎Following the tournament, journalist Ademola Victor first suggested Ismail’s transfer after the team’s win over Ghana last weekend, although the player refuted the claim.

‎Nonetheless, it is noteworthy that another key player, Junior Nduka, recently departed Remo Stars for Iraqi club Erbil FC.
