Falz Responds To Secret Marriage Rumour

Nigerian entertainment icon Folarin “Falz” Falana has publicly addressed the recent whirlwind of speculation concerning his marital status, on Wednesday, September 3, using the opportunity to articulate his firm stance on a public figure’s right to privacy.

The rumors ignited after the rapper and actor shared a collection of stylized photographs online that featured traditional wedding attire and motifs. These images rapidly went viral across social media platforms, with numerous fans and followers concluding they were witnessing documentation from a genuine, clandestine marriage ceremony.

The artist was swift to provide clarity on the situation, explaining that the pictures which fueled the online fire were not evidence of a secret nuptial but were, in fact, captured as part of a creative photoshoot project. Addressing the unexpected public frenzy directly through his Instagram account, Falz responded with his characteristic blend of humor and pointed commentary.

He quipped about the potential long-term consequence of the false alarm, suggesting that the intense speculation may have ironically diminished interest in his actual future wedding.

Furthermore, he delivered a clear message on the autonomy celebrities hold over their personal lives, stating that sharing life’s achievement is a choice, not an obligation owed to the public.

On the matter, he was quoted saying, “When everybody realized I wasn’t really married, people kept saying its a case of the boy who cried wolf. Maybe when I do get married nobody will care.”

He directly challenged the public’s expectation of transparency from celebrities, adding, “It is bold of you to actually assume that if im actually getting married, I will share it.“
