Champion Discipline, Nation-Building, Retired NYSC Deputy Director Urges Corps Members

His Royal Majesty, King James Sarakiri, the Alei II of Aleibiri Kingdom in Bayelsa State and a retired Deputy Director of Finance and Accounts at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has called on Corps Members to align themselves with discipline and purpose as a foundation for national progress.

Speaking at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, King Sarakiri addressed the 2025 Batch B Stream I Corps Members during a motivational lecture. He emphasised that for Nigeria to move forward, young citizens must “get their acts right.” Encouraging them to envision a future that is “bright, fruitful, and productive,” the monarch stressed the importance of hard work, honesty, discipline, and mutual love.

He also reminded them that true achievement lies not only in personal success but in uplifting others and contributing meaningfully to society. King Sarakiri advised the Corps Members to positively impact their host communities and prioritise continuous learning to make informed life decisions.

He urged them to be intentional with their plans, embrace innovative ideas, and regularly evaluate their progress. Highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship, he encouraged them to explore skill acquisition as a viable path to financial independence and wealth creation, rather than depending solely on the uncertain job market after their service year.

The State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, warmly welcomed King Sarakiri, describing his presence at the camp as a heartfelt “homecoming.”
